Gillits Crafted And Coffee

Based near the Durban ocean, is a town called Gillitts. Gillitts is known to be the green countryside part of Durban and has many attractions to offer. The old Gillitts train station is a part of what is offered in the town. The old Gillitts train station is a heritage building and has had its place in the town since the 1900 era, evident in its exterior 1900-era architecture.

For the proposed design, an exhibition and coffee shop will be created to showcase local talent to visitors of the coffee shop, this will create a space for recognition and opportunity for local artists and creatives of Gillitts. For the interior, sleek and minimal is the proposed design flow because it provides more focus on the displayed crafts as well as the heritage building itself. For the proposed design, the plan is to incorporate minimal and clean design elements and complement the existing 1900 era architecture. The existing floors are wood, and the plan for the new design is to use wood again to keep the originality of the heritage site but improve and renew certain elements.
