Hotel Room Working Drawings

The set of working drawings in this section of the portfolio relates to the design and spatial layout of a business suite for a five-star hotel room and the creation of mock-ups to develop the luxury suite.

Spatial requirements and design requests for the design featured the inclusion of an entrance lobby, a lounge/dining room with a kitchenette, a bedroom, a dressing area and a bathroom. Other requirements included the use of commercial-grade luxury materials, fittings and furniture.

The aim of the design was to create a feeling of luxury and modernity using specific materials to create texture and warmth. With the use of curved elements visible in the entrance lobby along with stylish finishes and designed spaces, the suite conveys a luxury element which was set as a goal to be achieved. In addition to achieving the feel of luxury within the room, another set objective included instilling quality-related elements, specifically relating to indoor environmental quality (IEQ). Aspects such as ventilation, air conditioning (thermal comfort properties), natural light, favourable acoustics and lighting were all considered in the design and technical documentation of the hotel room.
